About the event

The Odenong Powwow is, at present, the only Native American event of its type and magnitude in the Five College area of Western Massachusetts. We are a community-oriented and community-funded powwow and we are blessed to be able to be in a position to continue to work on trying to hold the powwow again.

The visibility of Indigenous people in the Americas is an important aspect of the path to respect, justice, equality, and reconciliation. To that end, the Odenong Powwow is committed to holding an intertribal powwow to give a broad range of Native American, Indigenous, & First Nations people the means, access, and opportunity to share elements of their respective cultures with the general public. This includes dancing, arts, singing, drumming, and language. Powwows are a community event that invites people from all backgrounds, as long as folks enter the space with respect. We are a drug and alcohol free space, and we ask you to keep substances out of the powwow.

At the Odenong Powwow, you will have the opportunity to see social dances, Eastern dances, Fancy shawl dance, Jingle Dress dance, along with purchasing beautiful items from the dozens of Native artists who vend with us every year.
